In the waining moments, the final seconds, of Acts we feel the crushing blows of the notorious Nor'easter hurricane as it thrashes the transporter vessel into humble and broken submission. Several descriptors make us feel like this is a story we can relate to--"we prayed for daylight' and "the terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone."
One thing is for certain in life--ship (sic) happens. Often times it happens when we are warned and we didn't heed the warning. Other times it happens too suddenly, without warning.
This Sunday will be our final sermon in this series as we offer up some meditations on hope. Dr Jeffrey Garner will share with us how hope dances in the rains of life's storms.
